My choice of the photo I've taken is strange; and that's why I appreciate it so much! There can be so many questions behind the photograph: where was it taken? Who's head is it? And why is there a gourd on their head?! Although it may not be something the average person would hang on their wall; there's something to it - it's different. In my opinion, using the method of depth of field really made the picture - solely focusing on the gourd and it's odd placement, intensifies the photo and it's potential meaning - depending what the viewer would make of it.
What strikes most, perhaps better said - my favourite part about fall are the leaves; the colours, the variation, and definitely their smell! For this project I took specific interest in the different kinds of leaves I would come across day to day. In each photo I tried to create a different type of shot - the viewpoint of which the way the leaf or leaves would be seen. Depth of field in particular, was so much fun to photograph- especially when using the Manual focus function. It was definitely a challenging way to create a scene, but the final product was often rewarding.
I thought if I could have the leaves be viewed from a varied perspective, it would be possible to appreciate differing traits and characteristics about them; such as the contrast with it's background, it's makeup, shape and form, or even just up close and personal with A LEAF. October was a beautiful month to witness the changing of the seasons, however, it saddens me to say, WINTER IS COMING. |
