This is my mother. I call her Kim K. She is a third generation lass of Japanese desent born and raised in Kamloops, British Columbia. In the 80s, she made a bold move to Vancouver and the rest is history. She's bomb. Perhaps better said - something she'd understand: she's just an outstanding lady. These photos were taken in her office, in our home, where she spends quite a bit of her time. The photos were intended to intesify her face, and, also emphasize her character: an intense, kind, loving, professional, and classy human being also be able to play with lighting; seeing the product it could create. I have grown a particular fondness for the black and white picture as it resembles something very vintage from the head positioning to the editing itself - classic. I was surprised to see how much drama could be added to a simple picture of my lovely mother when half the light was missing from her face. Properly setting up and adjusting the office lamp to create the right image proved to be a challenging feat, but I believe I am on the road to getting the hang of it.
